ZIUR receives the BIKAIN Gold certificate
BIKAIN is the official seal of the Basque Government to accredit a level of normalization of the Basque language
The Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Center, ZIUR, has been awarded the BIKAIN Gold certificate, an official seal granted by the Basque Government and which accredits a level of normalization in the presence, use and management of Basque by an entity.
To achieve this recognized seal, ZIUR developed and implemented a Basque Linguistic Normalization Plan and, after that, underwent an audit, which it successfully passed. With this certification, the center promoted by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa demonstrates that it uses Basque in all the professional activities it carries out, from its own corporate image to relations with clients, with society and with any external agent, and in all areas related to communication and people management. The act of delivery of this recognition by the Basque Government will take place at the end of the year.
"At ZIUR we want to promote the use and normalization of Basque in the field of cybersecurity, a sector that is becoming more and more important and that has a great future," says the center's director, Koldo Peciña. So much so that Euskaltzaindia recently saw the need to publish a basic lexicon of cybersecurity, which includes 27 concepts, to help establish the terms in Basque related to this area.
