ZIUR collects in this report the conclusions and recommendations obtained from the Deception project, which owes its name to the technology used for its execution. Deception technology uses breadcrumbs to redirect the attacker towards possibly monitored fake assets, thus moving them away from the real ones.
Thanks to this 2-year study, in which 15 Gipuzkoan industrial companies have participated anonymously, it has been possible to simulate different controlled risk scenarios with which these companies have interacted, in order to understand the motivations, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) of the adversaries, and in turn, help the industrial sector of the territory to be more prepared for future attacks.
The report includes information about the study, detailing its context, the objectives and the participating companies, as well as the methodology used, the technology applied and the Deception scenarios created; and, on the other hand, it is offered data of the registered events and activities, and, in addition, the results and recommendations obtained.
