ZIUR tests 10 Urola Erdia companies through a gamified simulation of a cyber incident

The objective is to implement the development of a cyberattack response plan

ZIUR, the Gipuzkoa industrial cybersecurity center, has organized a new working session at the Basazabal Palace in Azpeitia, aimed at IT managers and technicians from ten Urola Erdia companies. The event, held in collaboration with the Iraurgi Berritzen Agency, focused on developing and implementing a cyberattack response plan and raising awareness of potential technological trends in cybersecurity.

The working session, titled "Cyberincident response plan: gamified simulation of a cyber incident," began with a brief introduction to the nature of the IT/OT environment, led by ZIUR experts Iñaki Torrecilla and Markel Gómez.

Subsequently, a practical simulation of a cyberattack was conducted using the KIPS (Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation) methodology, thus encouraging dialogue among participants. To achieve this, the working groups had to successfully manage a cyber-risk situation in an IT/OT environment and develop strategies and response capabilities to unfamiliar situations, based on budget, implementation times, and economic consequences.

At the end of the session, a networking space was set up to promote the exchange of experiences among attendees over lunch. The aim is to share the knowledge, projects, and best practices being developed by companies in the region in this field.

This event, the third in 2025, is part of the Ikasiz program, which consists of an annual series of sessions aimed at promoting the training of ICT managers in companies in the region, digitalization, and new technologies through collective learning processes.

To this end, workshops are organized with experts and based on the exchange of experiences on topics prioritized by the working group. In this regard, each company also has the opportunity to implement a practical project.
