ZIUR trains students of the specialization in industrial cybersecurity from EASO Politeknikoa
A dozen students have carried out industrial cybersecurity tests in controlled environments
ZIUR has welcomed students from the EASO Politeknikoa Centre's specialisation training cycle in Cybersecurity in Operation Technology environments to its headquarters to carry out a specific workshop on applied cybersecurity in its testing laboratory.
The objective of this training cycle is to specialise students in the definition and implementation of security strategies in organisations and industrial infrastructures, carrying out cybersecurity diagnoses, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing the necessary measures to mitigate them, applying current regulations and sector standards, following quality protocols, occupational risk prevention and environmental respect. In this sense, ZIUR provides the EASO Politeknikoa Centre with its cybersecurity infrastructures, such as its laboratories and advanced automatic and robotic systems so that students can carry out tests and practices.
During the session held on 11 November, ZIUR's ICS expert, Iñaki Torrecilla, shared his knowledge of cybersecurity in OT environments with the students. In addition, the group carried out a simulation so that they could see first-hand how easy it can be to carry out an attack in ICS environments and the catastrophic consequences that can arise from not having protected production environments. The group also provided them with different technologies and tools so that they could observe and test which solutions could support the process of securing these environments.
