ZIUR and the Beterri-Buruntza join forces to promote business cybersecurity
Around twenty professionals from the region participate in the Foundation's first workshop
ZIUR, the Industrial Cybersecurity Centre of Gipuzkoa, gave an introductory workshop on cybersecurity on 7 February to a dozen companies from Beterri Buruntza with the collaboration of the region's Association. The aim was to show them the current cybersecurity landscape and share a decalogue of good practices in business cybersecurity.
Most cybersecurity intrusions are due to human errors and can cause companies to be blocked and their clients' information to be lost, especially due to phishing and ransomware campaigns.
In this context, Iñaki Torrecilla, ICS Security Architect at ZIUR, and Markel Gómez, industrial cybersecurity analyst at the Foundation, gave an online workshop in which they shared a cybersecurity protocol, focused on guidelines for acting in the event of a cyber incident and how to protect computer devices.
This workshop is the first in a series of training sessions that will be held during 2025, and which are the result of the recent collaboration signed between both entities to contribute to improving the competitiveness of SMEs in Andoain, Astigarraga, Hernani, Lasarte-Oria, Urnieta and Usurbil, as explained by the general director of ZIUR, María Penilla, and the technician from the business and promotion area of the Beterri-Buruntza Association, Jone Espilla.
