ZIUR offers its vision on cyber regulation to the European industrial cybersecurity ecosystem
The Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Center traveled to Valencia to participate in the International Congress on Industrial Cybersecurity in Europe 2025, organized by the CCI Industrial Cybersecurity Center
ZIUR, the Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Center, participated on September 24 in the International Congress on Industrial Cybersecurity in Europe 2025, organized by the CCI Industrial Cybersecurity Center in Valencia. Aimed at experts in the fields of cybersecurity, industrial automation, regulation, and technology consulting, the 25th edition emphasized cybersecurity in OT digitalization, European cybersecurity regulations, and the specific challenges in key industrial sectors.
The annual European CCI congress has established itself as a benchmark in the European industrial cybersecurity ecosystem, bringing together more than 5,000 European manufacturers, integrators, operators, consultancies, and regulatory bodies for two days to discuss, connect, and build a more resilient future. Through 45 presentations based on real-life cases, lessons learned, and strategic approaches, industry leaders, experts, and professionals share experiences, strategies, and innovative solutions for protecting critical infrastructure and connected industrial environments.
In this regard, Iñaki Torrecilla Gubia, ICS Security Architect at ZIUR, reflected on the present and future of industrial cybersecurity regulation alongside national and international experts in the sector. Specifically, he participated in a roundtable discussion with Vicente González Pedrós, an expert from the Cybersecurity Certification Unit of ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity); and Ramón Sáez, head of the services platform and technical office at the CCN (National Cryptologic Center).
Under the direction of Luis Fernández, editor of the cybersecurity magazine SIC, the experts delved into the most significant regulatory changes in recent years in the industrial sector, the achievement of the objectives pursued by the ENS, NIS, and CRA standards, as well as the obstacles organizations are encountering in adapting to NIS2, CRA, and other emerging regulations. Finally, they presented their vision of the evolution of European regulation in industrial cybersecurity in the short term (2030).
The conference also included the participation of representatives from leading national and international entities in the sector, such as Deloitte, Fortinet, Innotec Security by Accenture, Kaspersky, S2 Group, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Tecnalia, Telefónica Tech, Minsait, TxOne Networks, and Secure IT by LKS Next.
Collaborations between ZIUR and the CCI
ZIUR and the Industrial Cybersecurity Center (CCI) signed a collaboration agreement in 2019 with the aim of sharing strategies, developing joint actions, combining capabilities, and leveraging synergies. This alliance has strengthened both technological surveillance and the dissemination and exchange of knowledge between the two entities, and has also helped boost awareness and training among Gipuzkoa's business community.
As an example of this, between January and February 2025, Juan Pulpillo, a CCI expert in legal compliance, participated in two workshops on the NIS2 regulation held at the Foundation's headquarters. ZIUR also collaborated with the organization of the Voice of Industry in the Basque Country conference, organized by the CCI and held in San Sebastián during the month of June.
