ZIUR shares the results of its pioneering 'Deception' project with Mondragon's 'Shaking HUB' community
Betapack and Connect Group, two of the 15 companies participating in the project, shared their experience
ZIUR, the Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Center, participated on May 26 in the online meeting "Cybercriminals and Industrial Companies in Gipuzkoa," organized by Shaking HUB, the community promoted by Mondragon cooperatives for the development of talent in the technological field. The session aimed to present the results of ZIUR's pioneering 'Deception' project, which reveals the modus operandi and objectives of hackers when attacking industrial companies in Gipuzkoa.
The 'Deception' project, carried out by the ZIUR Foundation over a 48-month period, included the participation of 15 leading international industrial companies from Gipuzkoa. The objective was to study the behavior of cyberattackers in order to obtain real information and establish defense strategies. It also included analyzing whether industrial companies in Gipuzkoa are the target of targeted or mass attacks.
The session featured María Penilla, General Manager of ZIUR; José Luis Corona, Head of Information Technology at Betapack; and Iñaki Calonge, former CIO of the Ikor group and currently Head of Information Technology Integration at Connect Group. These two companies participated in the project along with 13 other entities in the sector.
The Director of ZIUR presented details of the development of the "Deception" initiative and the main conclusions. Representatives from Betapack and Connect Group, for their part, shared their experience and the knowledge acquired during the project.
The workshop is part of the 'Beterri-Buruntza Digitala' program, an initiative of the Beterri-Buruntza Association and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, specifically designed to accelerate the digital transformation of SMEs in the region's municipalities.
