ZIUR shows the fundamentals of industrial cybersecurity to Administration of Computer Network Systems students

ZIUR has welcomed a dozen second-year students of the Computer Network Systems Administration Course (ASIR) from the SEIM Vocational Training Centre, to share with them the fundamentals of industrial cybersecurity and the services and tools offered by the Foundation.

Iñaki Torrecilla, ICS Architect at ZIUR, has shown them the risks, needs and standards of industrial cybersecurity, and how the prevention and defence barriers of business computer environments and systems are implemented in Gipuzkoa.

Among other things, the expert has explained how security is managed in an OT environment, as opposed to how it is done in an IT environment, and the phases that a cyber-incident usually follows in an OT environment, with real examples suffered in industrial plants.

At the same time, he has made known the activity of ZIUR, based on helping industrial companies in Guipuzcoa to reform their cybersecurity capabilities, as well as contributing to the preparation and training of students from vocational training centres and universities. In relation to the latter, the ZIUR expert has shown the industrial cybersecurity laboratory to future technicians and the options it offers.
