ZIUR attends the first edition of the Women4Cyber Euskadi meeting
The center, a collaborating entity of Women4Cyber Spain, is coming to learn about the progress of this community in the Basque Country
One hundred female cybersecurity professionals gathered at Women4Cyber Euskadi, the first edition of this event held in Bilbao. Under the slogan 'Women4Cyber Euskadi: Breaking Down Barriers, Building Cyber Resilience', the event was organized by Enpresa Digitala, ITP Aero, and Tecnalia.
María Penilla, director of ZIUR, a collaborating entity of Women4Cyber Spain, attended inspiring presentations and debates on the opportunities and challenges associated with cybersecurity. These conferences were attended by the Director of Digital Transformation of the Basque Government, Elixabete García; the head of the CIO team at Banco Santander, Idoia Mateo Murillo; the head of global security at ITP Aero, Izaskun Onandia; and the director of the CORES-Digital area at Tecnalia, Ana Ayerbe. The latter also presented the initiatives carried out by the European foundation in the Basque Country.
Women4Cyber Euskadi highlighted the need to promote collaboration among all people to respond to the challenges posed by cybersecurity, as well as to generate a shared cybersecurity ecosystem and provide visibility for Basque professionals in different contexts. These meetings seek to promote the participation of women in cybersecurity to create a more inclusive, secure, and innovative digital ecosystem.
