ZIUR launches an Artificial Intelligence tool to help industrial companies
The virtual assistant available on the foundation's website resolves doubts about the NIS2 regulation
ZIUR, the Industrial Cybersecurity Center dependent on the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, has launched an Artificial Intelligence tool that aims to help industrial companies in the application of one of the new regulations approved by Europe. Specifically, the virtual assistant available on the ZIUR website (https://www.ziur.eus/en/observatory/virtual-assistant-nis2) resolves all doubts about the NIS2 regulation, which establishes a minimum level of cybersecurity for all Member States of the European Union.
In recent months, ZIUR has received a multitude of questions from the Gipuzkoan industry about the application of this regulation. Given the doubts it has generated, the centre has decided to launch this AI tool to support companies and make this new European standard more understandable.
Specifically, the NIS2 Directive (Directive (EU) 2022/2555) stands as a strategic regulatory framework to address current cybersecurity challenges within the framework of the European Union. Thus, it expands the scope of application, providing greater coverage to the sectors and services of greater social and economic relevance. In addition, it reinforces the security requirements that affected entities must meet, specifies the incident notification process, addresses security in the supply chain and relationships with suppliers, strengthens the exchange of information on incidents and the disclosure of vulnerabilities and establishes a European crisis support network (EU-CYCLONe).
This directive affects medium and large companies, whether public or private, in critical sectors such as energy, transport, banking, healthcare, water, digital, space, ICT service management, waste, manufacturing, chemicals, research organisations, food or digital service providers, among others.
Immediate access 24 hours a day
This new virtual assistant is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to resolve doubts about the regulations and so that industrial companies can consult how to implement risk management measures or comply with notification obligations in critical sectors. In addition to the queries that can be consulted, the tool is prepared to expand information in the form of new documents or even videos.
The Gipuzkoan industry can now benefit from immediate access to accurate information, which will not only lead to time savings but also to improved cybersecurity, one of the great challenges of ZIUR and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. “We trust that this new service will be well received and will help companies in our region to be more competitive in terms of cybersecurity. At ZIUR we intend to continue launching this type of tool to support our industry,” says the director of the centre, María Penilla.
