ZIUR debates the real challenges facing Basque companies in cybersecurity at the III ISMS Forum Euskadi
The Foundation participated in a roundtable discussion with experts from Cybasque, Grupo Spri, and Liberty Mutual Insurance in Bilbao to advance resilience and digital transformation
ZIUR, the Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Center, participated today, June 12, in the 3rd ISMS Forum Euskadi Regional Cybersecurity Forum, organized by ISMS Forum in Bilbao. The meeting brought together members of the Regional Board and collaborating local institutions to analyze and discuss industrial cybersecurity—a key pillar for industrial development in the Basque Country—and to identify new threats and emerging risks, such as those posed by the new landscape surrounding Artificial Intelligence.
Iñaki Torrecilla Gubia, ICS Security Architect at ZIUR, participated in the roundtable discussion "Cybersecurity Challenges in Companies in the Basque Country," led by Alberto Bernáldez, board member of ISMS Forum Euskadi. Torrecilla was joined by key experts from the Basque ecosystem, such as Jesús Urien Pineda, member of Cybasque, and Guillermo Unamuno Enciondo, Head of Digital Transformation at Grupo SPRI.
During the debate, they addressed the real risks organizations face in an increasingly digitalized environment and analyzed the digital maturity of SMEs, the challenges of the industrial sector, institutional support, and the keys to moving toward robust and sustainable cyber resilience. It was a high-value conversation to understand how companies can adapt to the new landscape of threats and regulations.
In addition to this panel, around thirty professionals from organizations such as CyberZaintza and the Basque Government's IT Society (EJIE), associations such as CyBasque, and companies such as the Bank of Spain, Naturgy, Grupo Elecnor, ITP Aero, Salto Systems, Euskaltel, MasOrange, and Ecix Group discussed topics such as risk management with AI, ransomware threats, the NIS2 directive, and the challenges of managing cybersecurity in the supply chain.
Likewise, companies such as Palo Alto Networks, Nestkope, Secure&IT, AEG Power Solutions, Bitdefender, Izertis, Sectigo, Stormshield, Advens, Eni Plenitude Iberia, Mimecast, and Minsait Cyber addressed cybersecurity strategies, challenges, indicators, and leadership in security.
