ZIUR centre and The Public University of Basque Country train nearly 100 students in cybersecurity
In 2024, 12 workshops or sessions were held, and in the current year, students will learn from experts from the university, Vicomtech, the Cyber Performance Center, and Titanium, among others
ZIUR and the UPV/EHU created the ZIUR Business Classroom in the Faculty of Computer Science in 2023 to train students in cybersecurity. During this time, nearly 100 students have delved deeper into this topic, thanks to this alliance, which aims to strengthen the relationship between the academic and business worlds, offering students a framework for training and subsequent transition to the labor market.
“ZIUR was created to strengthen the region's capabilities in industrial cybersecurity, and to achieve this, training, knowledge, and talent are decisive factors. This agreement with the UPV/EHU helps us generate profiles for a sector that is strategic and full of opportunities,” says María Penilla, General Director of ZIUR.
During 2024, 12 workshops or sessions were held, with a special emphasis on industrial cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence vulnerabilities, and hacking, among many other topics. In 2025, students will continue receiving training from computer engineering experts from the University of the Basque Country (UPV), as well as from technology centers such as Vicomtech and the Cyber Performance Center, and companies such as Titanium.
