Today, ZIUR opened its doors in Donostia with the intention of becoming Gipuzkoan industry's "strategic" ally in preventing cyber-attacks, thereby assuring the future competitiveness of our companies.

The facilities, located in the Urola building on the Zuatzu industrial estate, will - through excellence and in collaboration with the economic sector - seek to generate advanced knowledge and turn Gipuzkoa into a European industrial cyber security benchmark.

During an institutional event presided over by the President of the Gipuzkoa Regional Council, Markel Olano, and the Mayor of Donostia, Eneko Goia, - the maximum representatives of the organisations comprising the ZIUR Foundation - the Manager of the industrial cyber security centre, Carlos Abad, presented the details of the work that ZIUR will perform from its headquarters in Zuatzu.

This event was attended by approximately one hundred representatives of the industry and the region's knowledge and innovation centres, the Delegates for Strategic Projects and Economic Promotion, Ainhoa Aizpuru and Imanol Lasa, respectively, as well as the Managing Director of the AFM advanced manufacturing cluster, Xabier Ortueta, and the Head of Innovation and Technology of the Mondragon Group, Naiara Goia.

ZIUR currently has a team of five people. Aside from the General Manager, the team also comprises a Technical Manager, a Cyber security Analyst, a Secure Systems Architect and an Administrative Officer. Together, this combines a diverse mix of technical skills, as it comprises professionals who have built their careers specifically in the cyber security sector as well as others who have done so in an industrial environment working closely with the security sector.
