María Penilla presents the ZIUR Acceleration Programme to companies linked to the marine and mobility sectors

ZIUR’s Managing Director has explained the new programme to accelerate compliance with the CRA regulation to around twenty professionals

The Managing Director of ZIUR, Maria Penilla, visited MUBIL to take part in a professional session organised by MUBIL in collaboration with the Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce. The session brought together around twenty professionals from companies linked to the marine and mobility sectors.

During the event, attendees learned in detail about the Acceleration Programme promoted jointly by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council and ZIUR, aimed at accelerating companies’ compliance with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The session also provided an in-depth overview of the main obligations established by this regulation and its specific application to the marine sector and advanced mobility systems.

As part of the presentation of the Acceleration Programme for the cybersecurity analysis of industrial products, Maria Penilla highlighted the importance of designing and developing secure and resilient technologies, particularly in advanced mobility environments and connected industrial systems.

The programme, focused on the cybersecurity of connected industrial products, is endowed with a €3 million budget and seeks to strengthen the competitiveness and innovation capacity of Gipuzkoa’s business fabric. The initiative is designed to support manufacturing companies in accelerating their preparation and adaptation to the various European regulations affecting connected industrial products.

The programme will be implemented through a Marketplace, created thanks to the collaboration and partnership of different agents based in Gipuzkoa, which together form the ecosystem required to provide the services that will enable companies to comply with the new European regulations.

The session also featured a keynote presentation by Carlos Freire Trigo, founder of Marine Battery Consulting, who addressed the main trends shaping the sector, including market developments, technological innovation and regulatory frameworks driving the transition towards more sustainable electric and maritime solutions.

To conclude the event, around half a dozen companies from the MUBIL Hub shared their capabilities and ongoing developments in the field of sustainable marine mobility, highlighting the innovative potential of Gipuzkoa’s ecosystem in this strategic sector.
